A big ‘Congratulations and Thank you’ go to Viviana.  Viviana is our first high school volunteer to arrange and run a food drive for our group in helping feed feral cats.  This event also helped Viviana complete her volunteer hours needed for a school project.  A total of 121 pounds of dry cat food and 9 cans of wet cat food were donated to Viviana for her cause.

We cannot thank her enough for her help with this ongoing project.

THANK YOU – Viviana

Volunteer Hours for Students

We have been approached numerous times regarding volunteer hours for high-school students. This
can be difficult for everyone as generally the students are under age which causes a problem for all
involved.
Most rescue groups do not have a standalone facility but work with foster homes instead, which makes
volunteering more difficult.
We have come up with a couple of solutions to help students obtain their hours as well as helping our
rescue group.

Food Drives
A food drive is exactly what it states, we talk with people and ask for a donation of a bag(s) or cans of
food (we will provide suggestions as to what brand). We will be happy to assist with flyers for this
program as well as providing receipts for tax purposes.
This could be an event spearheaded by 1 or 2 students or an entire class. We would also be happy to
speak to the class regarding the importance and responsibility of owning a pet.
The food could be collected by the individuals or dropped off or sent (if ordering on-line) at a location
designated by our group.
The food would then be distributed among the group and several feeders we work with. (These feeders
feed between 300 and 350 cats daily).

Litter Drives
A litter drive is exactly what it states, we talk with people and ask for a donation of a bag(s) of litter
(clumping litter only). We will be happy to assist with flyers for this program as well as providing
receipts for tax purposes.
This could be an event spearheaded by 1 or 2 students or an entire glass. We would also be happy to
speak to the class regarding the importance and responsibility of owning a pet.
The litter could be collected by the individuals or dropped off or sent (if ordering on-line) at a location
designated by our group.
The litter will assist our group and the foster pets we care for.

Cleaning Supply Drives
Cleaning supplies drive is exactly what it states, we talk with people and ask for a donation of any of the
following items:

Bleach
Laundry detergent
Paper towels

We will be happy to assist with flyers for this program as well as providing receipts for tax purposes.
This could be an event spearheaded by 1 or 2 students or an entire glass. We would also be happy to
speak to the class regarding the importance and responsibility of owning a pet.
The supplies could be collected by the individuals or dropped off or sent (if ordering on-line) at a
location designated by our group.
Cleaning supplies are always in great need, for health purposes it is imperative that everything is clean.
While this is still technically asking for donations, asking for an item is generally easier than asking for
money.
Should you be interested in the above, please feel free to contact us at 702-622-3092 and ask for Pat.

And THANK YOU to Viviana for being the first to help us to gain her volunteer hours! Check out our volunteer page to learn more!
